A forum for students to share their initial field observations, comments on readings, and suggestions and recommendations from research on the web and elsewhere.
This first video was pretty interesting. Throughout the video it was comparing the classroom settings now to how they were fifty years ago. The video focused on how much technology has truly changed. Obviously technology is going to evolve and become more enhanced over the years but in the end the most current student is the one that will benefit the most from it. Not only do they have high tech computers to help with research but unfortunately, in a few years from now when the technology is even more enhanced then it is today, society will look back at our current technology with question and wonder how we even "survived"?
I think that the video brings up a good question on how we need to really look to how we, as future teachers, make sure we change our ways of teaching. Incorporating new technology in the classrooms is an excellent way to grasp the attention of kids today, but it is not the only way. I believe that there are many different ways to get a childs attention and help them learn without technology. Don't get me wrong I love my cell phone, ipod, and laptop. I just don't think that technology should not be the whole class.
Loved the music to this one! I will have the tune in my head the rest of the day. All in all it is more of the same- and if you read any of my other blog posts (some written on top of a soapbox-sorry for that but once I get going it is hard to stop me) you understand my basic viewpoint.
They say it takes a village to raise a child- not an i-village. :P Parents and teachers must put time and effort in- if we care enough to teach- the children will learn.
I loved the background music to this one! lol. I found this video very interesting. I always hated technology. Even though I have a cell phone, iPod, etc, I still hate it. I hate how we are so dependent on it. This video just goes to show how dependent we really are on technology and how more dependent we will be in a few years. In fact, I believe that someday computers will think of the right answers for us instead of letting us figure it out on our own. Where will that lead the next generation in the real world? Yes, the internet is a great source to find information, but we shouldn't have to use it all the time. I think it's so much better to search for the answers the way students searched 50 yrs ago than typing in one word on the internet and getting a bunch of information.
This video was very interesting. I loved the music by the way. Using technology in the classroom will keep students more interested. I'm not saying we should use it with everything, but it should be used. Not only will it be more interesting for our students, but for us as teachers also.
Technology is evolving all the time and our teachers should be too! yechnology today is giving students everything handed to them. For example: Homework such as research papers, all they have to do is go online and its all their. Not like back then where all you had was books and you would have to read these books and would have a better understanding of what your topic is.Technology is growing and we should be teaching students what is really important!
