Confused
I am still confused on the Instructional Implications. Should I discuss the lack of contract for the teachers union and its effects? Or improvements that have been made in the school? If someone could please help I would greatly appreciate it thanks.
Don't over think this. It is simple- think about what you have written-the economic status (what can the children, and parents afford), the number of computers to student (does the school have the tools they need to teach the children), the feel of the community (is their parent interest and support?)- the test results (are they meeting the state standards or are they in danger of losing funding?) and then put yourself in a teachers shoes from that district. How do these things influence the way you teach? Does not having a contract make you work harder or are you looking for another job in a more stable district (and possibly neglecting your students needs?) Is it likely both parents are working-if so does it change the work you give the children to take home? (Are projects done in class with school supplies?) Can you plan field trips that might be costly to the parents? What is the racial make up of the class- if the majority of the students are predominately one race what do you do to make sure they are aware of all cultures and religions (Do you have one Holiday party, or none- do you celebrate Black History month, or do you teach it throughout the year... think about things like this) This only has to be a few paragraphs. Just say how the factors will influence your teaching methods and you will be aok. If you are still unclear email me at jlet102619@aol.com and I will give you my phone number.
no problem- but now that I look back I have a ton of grammatical errors in my post including the misuse of their- sorry about that (I sure Prof Tomich is cringing!) I am overtired from working on my own paper! Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any more help.(but let me sleep before I proof read anything!)
